I am delighted to welcome Diego Zaltron to the full-time coaching staff at Heartland Soccer Club. Diego is a passionate, devoted and motivated coach who brings knowledge, expertise, and great personality to the club. Originally from Argentina, Diego has been working in Dallas, TX coaching youngsters of all ages. In addition, he has a terrific background of nationwide camp instruction at many top colleges and has recently been involved with a program taking top young talent on a European tour to play against continental opposition.
Diego has coached State champion teams in Florida,Oklahoma and North Texas has coached in the ODP program in Oklahoma and North Texas, and has High School coaching experience too. As a player, he represented Independiente of the Argentine First Division and Deportivo Español along with the Miami Breakers and Miami Tango teams of the United Soccer Leagues (USL) in the States.
Diego will assume the role of Academy Director at Heartland while also involving himself with other age groups within the club. He is charged with improving our young players’ technical qualities and will no doubt tech them in a way that is enjoyable and productive. As a coach he holds the Argentinian A-License and US Soccer B-License. This means that Heartland stands alone in Eastern Iowa in having 3 staff coaches who hold the prestigious A-License and outlines our commitment to attracting top quality coaches to the club. Diego will arrive at the end of this week and will begin taking training sessions on Monday 15th.
